January is shaping up to be a decisive month for Nuno Espírito Santo and West Ham United.
Yes, back-to-back wins have offered a glimmer of hope, but the Hammers still sit 18th and remain firmly in a relegation scrap.
If they’re to pull themselves out of danger, the club must not only strengthen the squad — they also need to clear out players who have failed to make an impact.
And now it appears one high-profile signing is all but guaranteed to depart.
Fullkrug’s West Ham Career “Over”

According to respected transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Niclas Füllkrug’s time in east London is effectively finished.
In an update posted to his social channels, Romano revealed:
“Niclas Füllkrug, set to leave West Ham in January as his chapter at the club is over. Talks have started with German clubs and not only.”
It’s the clearest indication yet that West Ham are preparing to cut their losses on the striker, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund with big expectations but has never settled or found form in the Premier League.
Füllkrug has has scored just three goals since joining the club, and with Nuno pushing hard for a new No.9 in January, there appears to be no way back for the German.
