West Ham could be set to embark on a stern battle with a Premier League rival after learning a midfield target is available in the market.

Italian outlet TuttoSport, cited by TeamTalk, state that Juventus are ready to offload Stefano Sturaro in the market and will look to command around €20m for his services.

The Serie A champions have already signed Emre Can on a free transfer from Liverpool and are also attributed with an interest in soon to be departing Arsenal man Jack Wilshere as well as Russia ace Aleksandr Golovin.

Sturaro is eyeing more regular first-team opportunities and Juventus’ own transfer activity looks set to make the 25-year-old surplus to requirements.

West Ham will be alerted to the news but will face a wealth of competition in the market from their Premier League rivals, as the report names Everton and Newcastle as other sides interested in Sturaro’s services.

Italy international Sturaro started just 11 games in all competitions for Juventus last term and has been a bit-part player in Turin ever since his arrival in 2014.
