West Ham are already preparing for summer transfer activity but they’re being pulled into a real battle for the services of one target.

Ludogorets’ Brazilian ace Jonathan Cafu has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with the Hammers regularly touted as contenders for his signature.

Slaven Bilic’s side face a real test to land the signature of the 25-year-old though, as SportWitness has revealed newly-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion lead the chase.

Chris Hughton’s Seagulls are seeking recruits this summer that can help them survive in the top-flight and will go toe-to-toe with West Ham for Cafu’s signature.

The two Premier League outfits are not the only club’s interested in his services though, as there is also potential suitors from Portugal and Italy- whilst Leicester City are also keen.

A deal for Cafu is easy for the Hammers to complete though as it’s been revealed that the Brazilian has a release-clause of just €12m (£10.8m) in his deal with the Bulgarian side.
