West Ham United need to strengthen their defensive ranks this summer but many fans aren’t impressed by one recent report.
The Daily Mirror has stated that West Ham are set to revive their interest in Lamine Kone this summer, with Sunderland likely to have to part ways as they face relegation to the Championship.
Sunderland, who tackle West Ham this weekend, currently sit rock-bottom of the Premier League with just five victories all season- and fans aren’t impressed to see one of their defenders linked with a move to East London.
It’s hardly surprising as Sunderland have lost 21 Premier League games during this campaign, conceding a whopping 56 goals- although that is less than West Ham have conceded (57).
Nevertheless, fans don’t see Kone as the sort of signing that can solve West Ham’s issues in the centre of defence and they’ve taken to social media to express their concerns at these reports.
call me old fashioned but signing a defender from the team who are about to finish bottom of the league?

Whyyy??? Bring through the talent we've got in the youth the likes of Oxford and Burke. Give them a chance

Kone is a good centre half.
Oxford just helped Reading ship in 7 vs. Norwich.— Kris Johnson (@kjohno10) April 12, 2017

Because signing defenders from the worst team in the league is a good idea

Not sure that a summer spending spree focused on raiding the bottom club ends well. Is this the height of ambition?
