The transfer window has officially closed and the business our club has completed has been remarkable.

Twelve new faces, all of which strengthen our squad, and already a clear indication of the ambition our owners have of taking us in to the Olympic Stadium as a healthy, successful football club both on and off the pitch.

Last week Twitter was awash with disgruntled fans who were desperate for the club to sign a striker for the transfer window closed. Injuries to Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate so early in the season had chiefly led to such a panic, but the club pulled through in the end.

The arrivals of Alex Song, Victor Moses, Nikica Jelavic and Michail Antonio in the final 12 hours of the window follow up deals for Carl Jenkinson, Manuel Lanzini, Pedro Obiang, Dimitri Payet, Darren Randolph, Angelo Ogbonna,Stephen Hendrie and Martin Samuelsen this summer.

As expected every single West Ham fan is delighted with the business, and hundreds took to Twitter this evening to thank the likes of David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady for the work they put in over the summer to ensure we had the strongest possible squad to give the Boleyn Ground the send off it deserves.

Here’s just a handful of the best tweets…
