West Ham are actively trying to identify the right candidate to take the club forward after confirming David Moyes would not be handed a new deal but it’s proving to be a difficult task.

The Hammers have already seen a number of candidates pull out of the running, with Paulo Fonseca signing a new deal with Shakhtar Donetsk, Rafael Benitez preferring to stay at Newcastle and Marco Silva not interested in the role.

That has left former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini as the leading candidate to take charge at the London Stadium but West Ham are not putting all of their eggs in one basket.

Reports suggest they’re also considering approaching former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri, after the Italian’s departure from Nantes was confirmed this week.

Ranieri famously guided the Foxes to unlikely Premier League glory but fans on social media are certainly split on the possibility of him taking charge of the club, as they flocked to give their opinion on the situation.
