West Ham have confirmed the signing of Spanish creative midfielder Pablo Fornals, who joins on a five-year contract with the option of a further year.

The club’s announcement didn’t confirm the exact price, but claimed that Fornals has become the second most expensive signing in West Ham’s history – behind Felipe Anderson.

After being bombarded with messages from Hammers fans to announce the signing over the last few days, the club did just that with this tweet:

It seems plenty of Hammers fans have been watching compilation videos of the Spain international, just as the kid in the video was.

Anyone who has will have seen a technically gifted player who has a plethora of skills at his disposal and scored some very aesthetically pleasing goals – especially the chip against Real Madrid.

Hammers fans should have the chance to watch him live on Sunday, as he is part of the Spanish squad who will face Italy in the U21 Euros.

This is a signing that has created a lot of excitement amongst the club’s fan base, as he should bring plenty of entertainment to the London Stadium.
