West Ham have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer market and have not rested on their laurels so far, already securing the services of a new defender.

The Hammers confirmed the capture of full-back Ryan Fredericks from newly-promoted Fulham yesterday, with the defender joining on a free transfer.

Speculation linking Fredericks with a move to east London has been present for a number of months and he arrives as Manuel Pellegrini’s first signing for the club.

Naturally, fans on social media have had their say on the addition of the experienced full-back and it’s clear they want the Hammers to push ahead for further additions.

His pace has been identified as a tremendous asset and fans will be pleased by Fredericks’ crucial performances in Fulham’s return to the Premier League last term.

The 25-year-old made 47 Championship appearances, providing seven assists to his team-mates.
