West Ham’s search for a new manager has come to a swift end, with the club confirming the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini today.

The former Manchester City boss, who guided the Citizens to Premier League glory, has penned a three-year deal at the London Stadium and will succeed David Moyes.

West Ham had been actively looking for a new boss, holding talks with the likes of Shakhtar Donestk boss Paulo Fonseca, but have swiftly appointed Pellegrini after his two-year absence from English football.

Pellegrini left the Premier League in 2016, replaced at City by Pep Guardiola, and has since been with Chinese outfit Hebei China Fortune – who he left to seal a move to West Ham.

Supporters were swift to share their views on social media following the appointment and it’s fair to say the majority are happy with the decision to bring in the experienced boss.

Pellegrini has plenty of work to do this summer to rebuild the Hammers but fans seem optimistic.
