West Ham United are now mathematically safe from the drop.
This was confirmed after our magnificent 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, which was arguably our finest team performance of the season.
Manuel Lanzini’s close range strike capped off a fine defensive and hard working performance from the Hammers.
Following that result, two West Ham players have gone in for operations.
It has emerged that Cheikhou Kouyate was playing with a wrist injury and he will not be available for the rest of the season.
Now the club’s official website has revealed that Mark Noble will join Kouyate on the sidelines.
Noble will need surgery on a longstanding double hernia injury which he has been secretly carrying for much of this season.
The captain has been a warrior on the pitch though and played through the pain barrier to help keep the Hammers afloat.
Following this injury news, West Ham fans flocked to social media to praise Noble for his commitment over the season while others cursed our injury luck.
