West Ham fans have produced somewhat of a mixed reaction to Declan Rice’s recent comments about a potential move to Manchester United.
The 20-year-old was linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer but instead of forcing a move away, he chose to stay at West Ham.
Rice when speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, via the Daily Mail said: “Don’t get me wrong, I think I’ve got the ability to play for someone like that (Manchester United).
“But it’s all about timing and I don’t think the timing is right for me at all. I’ve still got so much to learn.
“I’m loving it at West Ham, the connection between me and the supporters is special. I’ve become one of the fans’ favourites and the manager likes me.”
Although the first part of the interview may suggest Declan Rice thinks he is better than he is, the England star remains grounded and insists: “To be called a West Ham legend in the future, maybe, would be an honour.”
The youngster has performed brilliantly for the Hammers during the last few seasons and although some are more disgruntled with Declan Rice than others, most have taken the opportunity to make a joke of Man United, rather than taking the England internationals comments seriously…

So what he is saying is that he isn’t good enough for west ham so he wants to go play at a lower level with United

True… he’s already at a mid table club.

Surely you can. Jumping from one mediocre club to another is no brainer.

But some have taken to their personal accounts to back the defensive midfielder…
So in a interview, Declan Rice was asked about a possible move to United. He says he believes he has the ability to play for a club like United, but it would be an honour for him to become a West Ham legend…
This has apparently upset some fans…why exactly?! #WHUFC #COYI
