West Ham made it three games undefeated following a goalless draw with high-flying Everton on Saturday, although their advantage over the relegation zone was reduced to seven points.

With four games remaining, West Ham could mathematically seal survival with one more victory this season but they face a difficult challenge with fixtures against Stoke, Spurs, Liverpool and Burnley.

Having secured a point against an Everton side that’s pushing for a top-six finish though, West Ham will be feeling fairly confident and one man’s performance at the weekend stood out.

James Collins earned rave reviews for his performance, where he kept Premier League top-scorer Romelu Lukaku quiet, and was heralded by the home support who sang his name.

Fans on social media were equally impressed with the 33-year-old Welshman, who they’re keen to ensure does not leave this summer.

Collins enters the final 12 months of his deal in East London this summer but his first-team spot is in threat with the Hammers eyeing defensive recruits.
