The news of Manuel Lanzini’s long-term injury has rocked West Ham in the past week, with the midfielder set to miss Argentina’s World Cup campaign.
Lanzini worked hard to force his way into Jorge Sampaoli’s plans for the South American giants and now faces a spell on the sidelines for at least the first few months of Manuel Pellegrini’s tenure at the London Stadium.
Some speculation has suggested that Lanzini could be forced to miss the entirety of the 2018/19 Premier League season, which would be a huge blow to the Hammers, and the player himself is focusing on a full recovery rather than a swift return.
Naturally, West Ham fans are full of support for the 25-year-old who has become a fan favourite in recent campaigns and they flooded to social media to send messages to the Argentina ace.
Some even called for the Hammers to show support for Lanzini by offering a new contract.
