Losing Dimitri Payet for three months seems to have thrown us in to turmoil.
We weren’t quite the same against Everton after he limped off and then we clearly missed his influence and creativity in the shambles at White Hart Lane.
But we’ve just got to get on with it and prove to everyone, and more importantly ourselves, that we’re over reliant on Payet and can still get results without him.
Much of that will be down to who can successful step in to his shows during those three months, and two names that instantly spring to mind are Manuel Lanzini and Mauro Zarate.
Lanzini had next to no impact in that position against Spurs until Zarate came on the field and he seemed to spring to life a little, going on to bag himself his fifth goal of the season.
Personally that suggested to me the two of them are better off on the field together, but is that going to happen? Probably not.
Last week we teamed up with MyVoteMe.com to provide West Ham fans exclusive questions via their app, in order to gauge how our fanbase are feeling about the big West Ham talking points at the moment.
One of those was who fans think should replace Payet while he’s injured – Lanzini or Zarate?
And it’s pretty clear who fans want to fill that role…
A huge 80% of fans think Lanzini should be the man for Payet’s role in the coming months. Do you agree? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below…
Each week we provide exclusive questions to their app for fans to have their say on, and then we’ll publish the results right here once they’re in.
