It might be getting close to silly season, when we’re linked with players we’ve got no chance of signing for the entire summer.
But with Sam Allardyce’s future up in the air, all the talk of signing players has taken a back burner while we all speculate on who will be our manager next season.
So far we’ve had about 12 different names linked with replacing Allardyce, but there has always been one that’s been nothing more than a dream.
Jurgen Klopp announced today that he’ll be leaving Dortmund at the end of the season. . But with the club potentially being in the market for a manager come the beginning of June, fans all over have started putting two and two together.
Why don’t we try and tempt Jurgen Klopp to the glamorous east end of London? He’s bound to absolutely love it here, isn’t he?
We have of course been linked with him already – Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail wrote about why we should at least give him a call last month – so it’s no real surprise that fans have been genuinely suggesting we go for him.
Let’s face it, though. It’s never going to happen. Reports suggest he’s eying a year out of the game, while he’s favourite to replace Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City in the summer.
