Manchester United could be set to launch a shock swoop for Joe Hart this summer, reports the Telegraph.

Joe Hart is one of West Ham’s main summer targets but they could face competition from the Premier League big boys during the transfer window.

Manchester United are reportedly considering Joe Hart as one of their goalkeeping options if David De Gea leaves this summer.

The Spaniard is being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and Manchester United could lose their star shot stopper.

The attraction of joining Manchester United over West Ham for Joe Hart is that he would be offered Champions League football, the chance to compete for the Premier League title and he would be able to stay in Manchester.

However, West Ham might hold the trump card as Manchester City will be more reluctant to do business with their local rivals and they also see West Ham as less of a threat in terms of league positions.

The Hammers are in the market for a new goalkeeper after both Adrian and Darren Randolph had error-riddled seasons between the sticks.

Due to Manchester City’s asking price, West Ham are looking at a season-long loan deal with the option to buy and the 30-year-old England international is said to be keen on the move.
