West Ham United have been heavily linked with an £8m move for Adama Traore recently.

Middlesbrough were recently relegated from the Premier League and are due to compete in the Championship for the upcoming season.

As a result, they are expecting to lose a number of players.

Among those that could depart the Riverside is Adama Traore with recent reports suggesting that West Ham could tie up a deal this week.

However, the Hammers now face competition for Traore, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Sport is reporting that the 21-year-old is now a target for Premier League champions Chelsea.

Chelsea are weighing up a move for the Spain youth international and could beat West Ham to his signing.

Adama Traore only managed to pick up one assist last season and scored no goals.

In the season prior, he scored no goals and picked up one assist for Aston Villa.

It seems odd that Chelsea fancy someone who has as many relegations as assists and goals in the past two Premier League seasons but perhaps they see some potential in the youngster.

West Ham now face a battle if they are to land the Middlesbrough starlet, who fits the bill as a speedy winger.
