West Ham’s recent run — unbeaten in three and finally edging themselves out of the relegation zone — has restored a bit of belief around the London Stadium.

Callum Wilson’s resurgence has been a major factor, with the former Bournemouth man delivering exactly the kind of predatory finishing the Hammers have been crying out for.

But despite Wilson’s form, West Ham know they can’t rely on a 33-year-old alone to drag them to safety.

Nuno Espirito Santo has made it clear that adding another striker in January is a priority, especially with the club having missed out on multiple forward options in the summer.

Now, as the window approaches, a new name has entered the frame — and it’s a big one in every sense.

According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham’s recruitment chief Max Hahn has identified Canadian striker Promise David as a potential January addition — and the club have already asked about his availability.

Hahn, who has been analysing several options across Belgium, is believed to have presented Nuno Espírito Santo with a shortlist featuring multiple talents from the Jupiler League.

While two unnamed Club Brugge players are reportedly among those being monitored, significant attention has turned toward Union Saint-Gilloise forward Promise David.

The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form since joining USG in 2024, scoring 24 goals in 46 games, and is tied down to a long-term contract until 2029. Standing at 6’5″, he has earned a reputation as a powerful, relentless presence in the box.

West Ham have now made enquiries regarding a possible deal, though they face stiff competition. Leeds United are also keeping close tabs, while Brighton — who pursued Promise in the summer — are expected to reignite their interest as well.

Teammate Noah Sadiki has labelled him a “monster”, and former Belgium international Kevin Mirallas reportedly refers to him as the “Baby Lukaku”, even suggesting: “He also told me that ‘David Lukaku’ can maybe even become a little bit better.”

Promise David’s physical profile, goal record and Champions League experience make him an intriguing option — but with multiple clubs circling, West Ham may have a battle on their hands.
