West Ham’s summer transfer window was nothing short of chaotic – especially in terms of outgoings.
A host of familiar faces moved on — Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell both departed, Nayef Aguerd sealed a switch to Marseille, and the club’s game-changer Mohamed Kudus joined Spurs.
To top it all off, Michail Antonio — West Ham’s all-time Premier League top scorer — left on a free after his well-documented car crash.
It wasn’t all about departures though, and crucially, one key man resisted the temptation to jump ship. That player? Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville Rejects Forest

According to a new report from GIVEMESPORT, Nottingham Forest made a serious attempt to land Summerville this summer as they looked for replacements after parting ways with Anthony Elanga.
The winger — once hailed as “outstanding” by his former Leeds United boss Daniel Farke — was right at the top of Forest’s list. However, their pursuit was shut down quickly when Summerville made it crystal clear he wasn’t going anywhere.
The report claims the 22-year-old informed his camp that “he didn’t have any interest in leaving the London Stadium” and stressed he had “unfinished business” in claret and blue. The article adds this was his way of showing gratitude to the Hammers for backing him despite a frustrating first year in east London.
And the irony? Just weeks later, Summerville exploded back into action against Forest themselves — winning a penalty and grabbing an assist as West Ham romped to their first victory of the season with a 3-0 win. Not exactly the outcome Forest had in mind when they came calling.
Summerville promised “showtime” when he returned to full fitness, and on this evidence, Hammers fans may want to grab front-row seats.
Loyalty is rare in football these days — but in Summerville’s case, it seems very much alive.
