West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has claimed David Moyes might choose to go in for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this month.

The Belgium international has been a long-term target for London rivals Arsenal, who have reportedly been tracking his situation at the King Power Stadium all summer.

The 25-year-old is into the final 12 months of his Leicester deal and has been widely expected to leave the Foxes all summer.

However, nothing has progressed beyond the reported interest from the Gunners and the midfielder started Leicester’s 2-2 draw with Brentford last weekend.

But the reliable Hammers insider, ExWHUemployee, has claimed on his West Ham Way Patreon page that Tielamans could still surface as a target for Moyes, who is keen to add another midfielder to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the midfielder could be available for just £25m this summer, due to the length of his contract being under 12 months, which would make him an affordable option for West Ham.

Given Arsenal’s ongoing interest in Tielemans, it remains unlikely that West Ham would be successful in tempting the midfielder into signing up for Moyes’ project at London Stadium if it comes down to a choice between the two London clubs.

The player also previously admitted that he wants to play in the Champions League in future and, while Arsenal will only be competing in the Europa League this season, they are still one level above the Europa Conference League, which is all the Hammers can offer this season.
