West Ham’s lack of goals continues to define their disastrous start to the season.
With just one Premier League win and a frontline struggling to find the net, Nuno Espírito Santo knows that adding firepower in January will be crucial if he’s to steer the club away from relegation danger.
And it seems the Hammers are already working behind the scenes — months before the window even opens.
West Ham Contact United About Zirkzee

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, West Ham have made contact with Manchester United regarding a potential move for Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the January transfer window.
Romano reports that West Ham are one of several clubs keeping a close eye on the Dutch international, who has found regular game time hard to come by under Ruben Amorim this season.
Zirkzee has managed just 82 minutes of Premier League action so far and is said to be growing frustrated with his limited role.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained the situation.
“West Ham are showing some interest in Joshua, but at the moment, nothing more than this,” he said. “Just some calls to understand the situation and that’s it.
“We will see what’s going to happen for the January transfer window. Still early to say with Zirkzee focused on Manchester United.”
While on paper a former Bayern Munich forward and Netherlands international might seem like an exciting addition, Zirkzee’s numbers tell a different story. He scored just three goals in 32 Premier League appearances last season and is yet to find the net this term.
Given West Ham’s ongoing attacking struggles, bringing in another misfiring striker might not be the answer — and could risk compounding the very problem Nuno is desperate to solve.
