Like many clubs across world football this summer, West Ham have been keeping close tabs on the World Cup in Russia and could now be set to move for a target.

Reports cited by Claret & Hugh state the Hammers are interested in the services of Russia defender Ilya Kutepov, who has featured in the entirety of the host nation’s campaign this summer.

The 24-year-old has helped his nation exceed expectations in the competition, knocking out Spain on Sunday to seal a quarter-final clash with Croatia.

West Ham could face a stern fight in the market for the 11-cap centre-back though as it is stated RB Leipzig, Lyon and Fiorentina are also eyeing a swoop.

The Hammers have already signed Issa Diop to bolster their ranks at the heart of defence this summer but their pursuit of other targets suggest that Angelo Ogbonna or Winston Reid could be surplus to requirements in the eyes of Pellegrini.
