West Ham remain extremely active in the transfer market as Manuel Pellegrini prepares for his first season in charge of the Hammers.

Deals for Issa Diop, Ryan Fredericks and Lukasz Fabianski have already been completed, while it is widely reported that Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Fabian Balbuena.

Italian outlet TMW now add Franco Vazquez’s name into the mix by stating the Hammers have made advances to sign the Italy midfielder from Sevilla – and are confident of concluding a deal.

With Manuel Lanzini set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, West Ham are seeking attacking creativity in midfield and Vazquez may fit the bill.

Capped twice by Italy, Vazquez made 30 LaLiga appearances for Sevilla last term, scoring four goals and contributing a further six assists, and is tied down with the Andalusian side until 2021.

Vazquez’s importance to Sevilla could rise this summer due to speculation linking the likes of Ever Banega and Steven N’Zonzi with an exit, which may mean the Hammers will have to offer a significant figure for his services.
