The whole Ravel Morrison saga – if you can call it a saga – is almost over.

News filtering through this evening suggests Ravel is about to sign a pre-contract with Italian side Lazio ahead of a summer move.

Last week it emerged that the club had made him available for a free transfer and had told him he’d never play for the club again, which is completely understandable.

And Lazio have come calling, seemingly unaware of what they’re letting themsleves in for. If Sir Alex Ferguson and Sam Allardyce can’t keep him under control, it’s hard to believe anyone will ever be able to get the very best out of him.

Ravel’s upcoming court case means he can’t work abroad so he’s going to have to wait until his Hammers contract expires in the summer before completing the move.

So he’s finally heading out of the club for good. It all started so well for him, but it’s ended in the same circumstances many of us hoped would never happen. On his day he can be the best player on any pitch, but he’s clearly got some issues that he’s struggling to control and you’d suspect his time in Lazio could prove to be his last chance in football…
