According to Sky Sports News HQ, West Ham United should complete the signing of Pablo Zabaleta shortly.
Pablo Zabaleta is likely to become West Ham United’s first summer signing in the next few days.
This news comes alongside the announcement that Alvaro Arbeloa has been released.
The Spaniard failed to make much of an impact at West Ham and the Irons will be hoping for better from Pablo Zabaleta.
Zabaleta is a big fans’ favourite at Manchester City and was given a hero’s send-off in his last ever game for the club.
During his time with the Citizens, Zabaleta picked up two Premier League titles and turned in a number of top class displays at right back.
The Argentinian international is expected to come to West Ham as a short-term solution to the ongoing right back problem and to act as a mentor to young Sam Byram.
The 32-year-old has reportedly had a number of offers but he will complete his move to West Ham shortly.
Whether Pablo Zabaleta still has the legs to be competing at Premier League level for the foreseeable future remains to be seen but there is no doubt that he brings experience and pedigree to the Hammers’ squad.
