It feels like an age ago that we humiliated Liverpool in their own back yard.

Since then we’ve signed four new players and have the strength in depth we’ve been craving for quite some time.

And with the news Andy Carroll could return to the first-team on Monday night, there’s a positive feeling amongst the West Ham faithful at the moment.

Given the calibre of signings we made on deadline day and the fact Carroll could feature against Newcastle, the last two weeks have been filled with speculative looks at how Slaven Bilic might line up on Monday.

Will he throw the new boys straight in to the starting line-up, or will he stick with a similar team that thrashed Liverpool and ease the newbies in off the bench when appropriate?

Well co-chairman David Gold may have answered that question for us all today. The great man took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon to list the seven substitutes we ‘could’ have against Newcastle on Monday.

The list included new signings Nikica Jelavic, Victor Moses and Michail Antonio, as well as Andy Carroll. Does this mean Bilic won’t give any of the new players a start? Or is David Gold simply speculating like the rest of us?

It would be a bit strange for us to publicly give Newcastle a hint of what we’re planning to do on Monday night, don’t you think?
