When looking at West Ham’s current squad list, it is pretty unnerving to see just two senior strikers – especially with one of them set to be leaving, as has been hinted by ExWHUEmployee

As long as West Ham are in this predicament there will be an inevitable sense of worry until new strikers are signed, though there is no room for panic to set in just yet.

This is an incredibly important position and while it has been encouraging to see the Hammers getting transfer business conducted quickly so far, they must take their time with this to ensure they get things right.

There have been far too many occasions in the past where West Ham have signed a striker seemingly off the basis they’re available and they haven’t got many other options – Simone Zaza, Jonathan Calleri and Lucas Perez are all examples of that.

It would be much more beneficial to take a while in assessing the situation so a player is brought in who the club can rely on to lead the front line and score the goals.

Longstanding targets Maxi Gomez and Aleksandar Mitrović are still the main men for Manuel Pellegrini, according to the Evening Standard.

Full focus should be put into these two if that is the case, though if these fall through there is time to reevaluate the situation and find someone else.

Just please don’t panic buy West Ham, it doesn’t usually turn out well.
