David Moyes has warned Pep Guardiola that West Ham striker Michail Antonio will give his Manchester City team a different threat to the one they faced from PSG’s Lionel Messi earlier this week.

Messi failed to make an impact as PSG fell to a 2-1 Champions League at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

But Moyes, who rested Antonio for the Hammers’ 2-0 Europa League victory over Rapid Vienna on Thursday evening, said that Antonio will “cause him different problems” when asked whether Guardiola has a plan to limit the Hammers striker’s impact on Sunday.

Of course, Moyes wasn’t for a minute claiming Antonio is a better player than Messi, but more that they are very, very different players who require very, very different tactics when it comes to reducing the impact their capable of having on their respective side’s success.

West Ham 365 posted Moyes’ quote on Instagram earlier this weekend, which you can see below.

Antonio is without a goal in his last four appearances in all competitions since his winner in the 1-0 home victory over Tottenham in October.
