West Ham’s season has finally begun to stabilise after the chaos of their early campaign.
Nuno Espírito Santo has managed to inject momentum into a side that looked lost only a few weeks ago, putting together back-to-back Premier League wins over Newcastle and Burnley before a disappointing 2–2 draw against Bournemouth — a match the Hammers led comfortably before surrendering control.
The upturn in form has pulled West Ham out of the relegation zone, but nobody inside the club is getting carried away. The squad still lacks depth, goals remain inconsistent, and Nuno has stressed repeatedly that January reinforcements are essential if they want to steer clear of danger.
Now, West Ham may have received a timely boost in their pursuit of one Premier League forward who appears increasingly unsettled at his current club.
West Ham Given Zirkzee Boost

West Ham are reportedly still firmly in the running for Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, whose difficult spell at Old Trafford has raised serious doubts about his long-term future.
The Dutchman arrived from Bologna for £36 million, but has struggled badly to adapt. Former United striker Michael Owen summed up the situation bluntly, describing Zirkzee as “not the right profile” for the Red Devils.
Despite arriving with big expectations, he ended last season with seven goals in 55 games and has yet to score this term, slipping out of Ruben Amorim’s plans entirely.
Zirkzee is understood to be keen on staying in the Premier League, though a return to Europe hasn’t been ruled out if it guarantees consistent minutes.
Now, West Ham’s chances appear to have improved after David Ornstein addressed rumours of competition elsewhere. Speaking to NBC Sport, he said: “I think West Ham have shown an interest in Zirkzee. Reports say Roma too in Italy but, from what I hear, that’s not necessarily the case.”
He added: “There’s no concrete news and nothing is set in stone.”
While a deal is far from confirmed, the suggestion that Roma are not actively pursuing the striker removes a significant obstacle for the Hammers.
With West Ham desperate to add firepower — and Zirkzee struggling for opportunities — this could be a move that suits all parties if talks progress in January.
