West Ham’s Premier League struggles continued at the weekend as they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City, leaving Nuno Espírito Santo’s side rooted in 18th place.
Erling Haaland scored twice to take his season tally to 19 goals — and it isn’t even Christmas yet — while Tijani Reijinders also scored for the visitors.
The defeat leaves the Hammers five points from safety, just behind Nottingham Forest in 17th.
With the January transfer window looming, reinforcements are essential, and it seems West Ham are already moving quickly.
West Ham Make Formal Approach for Brazilian Star

According to GE Globo, West Ham have submitted a first formal offer to Cruzeiro for striker Kaio Jorge, the top scorer in the Brazilian league.
The proposal reportedly included a loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy for €21 million, dependent on performance targets.
The bid was quickly rejected by Cruzeiro, who are unwilling to negotiate over the 20-year-old forward.
Fellow Brazilian Danilo has described Jorge as a “very interesting” player, highlighting his potential, but the club see him as indispensable and are not entertaining a loan or a discounted transfer in January.
GE reports that any deal would need to exceed the €25 million West Ham are reportedly prepared to offer.
Jorge has scored 26 goals across all competitions in 2025 and has recently earned a call-up to the Brazil national team, underlining his pedigree.
While West Ham face stiff resistance, the striker could be the type of proven finisher they desperately need to boost their survival chances in the Premier League.
