West Ham continue to eye recruits to bolster their midfield ranks, particularly following Manuel Lanzini’s injury, and they have cast their eye on a Premier League star.

The Sun cites reports indicating that West Ham are keen on signing Australia ace Aaron Mooy from Huddersfield Town, following the former Manchester City man’s excellent debut campaign in the Premier League.

Mooy has now worked to transfer that form into the World Cup, where Australia tackle Peru on Tuesday aiming to qualify for the round of 16, and plenty of top-flight sides are eyeing his services.

According to the reports, Everton and Southampton are also eyeing a move for a player that Huddersfield value at around £18m – having spent £10m to sign him permanently last summer.

The 27-year-old has seen his value following his fine performances for Huddersfield last term, helping the Terriers to retain their top-flight status and missing just two league games throughout the entire season.
