West Ham have been shrouded in plenty of speculation following the end of the Premier League season but the club have moved swiftly to sort a new manager.

The Hammers had been in the hunt for a new manager after confirming that David Moyes would not see his short-term deal at the London Stadium extended.

However, the search has now come to a swift end as West Ham have officially confirmed the appointment of former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini at the club.

After leaving Chinese side Hebei China Fortune, the experienced boss has signed a three-year deal with the Hammers and returns to the Premier League after a two-year absence.

His managerial career includes spells with Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga but his biggest successes came with the Citizens, where he won the Premier League title and guided the club to the Champions League semi-finals.

Pellegrini will certainly have his work cut out at West Ham to rejuvenate an under-performing side, who have spent the past two seasons flirting with relegation.
