After months of rumours and mock-ups, West Ham announced this morning that they’ve signed a five-year kit deal with Umbro.
If you’re like me then you’d be fine about this. Obviously it’s sad to be seeing the back of adidas after two years of pretty nifty looking shirts, but Umbro have made some equally nice ones in the past, too.
But a lot of fans on Twitter today are absolutely fuming with the decision to sign a mega-money deal with another kit manufacturer, with some even questioning the club’s ambition as a result.
Pretty sad, I know, but that’s the way some people think. At the end of the day, the club have probably earned a fortune on the back of the deal, so it can only be a good thing.
But as you can see by some of the tweets below, some of our fans aren’t happy unless they’re moaning…

"Beat off interest from Nike and Puma" basically offered more money. I'm sure it is good for the club, but the Umbro stuff looks tacky

Umbro kits are shocking. Can this year get any worse?

Imagine letting yourself get so upset about this.
