The Daily Mail is reporting that West Ham United and Swansea City will compete to sign Wilfried Bony this summer.

Wilfried Bony is set to leave Manchester City after an unsuccessful season on loan at Stoke City.

West Ham have been persistently linked with the Ivory Coast international in the past.

With his prolific record for Vitesse in the Eredivisie, West Ham were the front runners to sign him before he joined Swansea instead.

Then again last summer, West Ham were in pole position to take him on loan but opted to sign Simone Zaza on loan instead.

The 28-year-old was prolific for Swansea but never really got a chance at Manchester City behind Sergio Aguero.

His career has been stagnating ever since and he wants to give the Premier League one more try.

This could lead him back to Swansea, where he started his ventures in English football in 2013.

But West Ham are also keen as they look to solve their striker crisis.

Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho are constantly plagued with injuries whilst loan duo Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri have got one goal between them all season (Calleri’s deflected strike against Middlesbrough).

Bony could be an option and he is keen to remain in the Premier League despite offers from the Chinese Super League.
