West Ham may have finally found some momentum under Nuno Espírito Santo, but the danger hasn’t disappeared.
Back-to-back Premier League wins over Brentford and Newcastle have injected much-needed optimism into the London Stadium — yet the Hammers still sit 18th, firmly locked in a relegation battle.
January is shaping up to be one of the most important windows in years.
Reinforcements are needed across the pitch: a centre-back, a right-back, and a natural defensive midfielder to finally fill the void left by Declan Rice’s departure. However, one area has been underlined in permanent marker — the frontline.
West Ham’s strikers have misfired all season, and sources now claim the board has finally moved to back Nuno’s biggest request.
West Ham to Prioritise Signing a Striker in January

According to Claret & Hugh, the West Ham hierarchy have now officially agreed to Nuno’s biggest demand: making the signing of a new centre-forward the club’s No.1 priority for the winter window.
The Hammers are actively working on striker options, with genuine interest in Ivan Toney and Franculino Dju, while reports linking Joshua Zirkzee are said to be wide of the mark.
Toney offers proven Premier League quality but comes with a heavy price tag, Dju is scoring freely in Denmark but remains untested at this level, and Zirkzee… well, the less said the better.
Whichever route they go, what’s clear is that West Ham cannot enter February without a new No.9.
If the Hammers are to pull away from danger, they need someone who can finish chances, hold up the ball, and lead the line — something the current strike force simply hasn’t provided.
January will define their season. And now, it seems the club knows it.
