West Ham face a number of difficult challenges this summer and one of their biggest could be fending off interest in their star players.

Reports have emerged to suggest that Marko Arnautovic is a target for Manchester United this summer, with Jose Mourinho in attendance at Austria’s friendly victory over Russia last night.

However, The Evening Standard says West Ham have made it very clear they are not willing to part with a player they spent a club-record fee on less than 12 months ago.

The 29-year-old initially struggled to find his feet in east London but soon became the leading man of the West Ham side, firing the club to safety with a return of 11 goals and sweeping a number of awards at the end of the season.

Manuel Pellegrini is said to have a budget of around £75m to spend this summer, which can increase through sales, but the club are not willing to consider any advances for their Player of the Year.
