Aaron Cresswell’s first goal for the Hammers was enough to see off an in-form Newcastle at the Boleyn Ground yesterday.

Given Newcastle’s run of five consecutive Premier League wins and our run of three games without a victory, you have to say that getting all three points was all the more sweeter. It pushed us up in to fifth and sets us up nicely for a very inviting run of games in December – West Brom, Swansea, Sunderland and Leicester.

But what did the Newcastle fans think of their defeat? I went behind enemy lines and had a ready through some of their most popular fan forums and, after spending a lot of time sifting through angry and frustrated comments about Alan Pardew, I managed to find some differing opinion on the game and West Ham as a whole.

As expected, it was a mixed bag of opinions. But if there’s anything to be learned from the thoughts of Newcastle fans right now, it’s that Andy Carroll is not welcome back at St. James’ Park and there happens to be a lot of love for Mauro Zarate up in Tynside.

Have a read of the Magpies fans comments below…

“Zarate has been ace since he came on.”

“The only thing worse than watching a team managed by Pardew is watching a team managed by Pardew play a team managed by Allardyce.”
Mick – newcastle-online.org

“It was a pretty poor game of football really and nothing more than I expected. I expected it to be a close game and we were a little unlucky not to get a point, neither team created very much. On Sissoko – Totally crazy. Anyone saying Carroll overreacted needs to watch it again, it was a nasty one on Carroll’s ankle and some refs might have shown him a straight red. Oh well, West Ham are a tough team to break down and we gave it a good go.”

“In all fairness West Ham look so much better this season, a big sam side with pace that attack! Cresswell is a decent young player.”

“How was Amalfitano not sent off for his challenge on Haidara? Both feet up and cynical as hell. Just frustrated as West Ham were missing their 3 best players and were there for the taking.”
AceLV74EVA – nufc-forum.com

“Zarate looks class.”

“I watched the game in the local and thought we looked pretty solid at the back once again. We didn’t really give them a lot to think about, but at the same time, the same could be said about them. It was a case of first goal would win the game and that’s what happened.”
Scoot – nufc-forum.com

“One positive out of today is that I am now 100% sure I never want Carroll back here.”
TheRollingStones – toontastic.net

“Both sides were poor today. Shame it was this team and manager that ended our run.”
