So many times in recent years, West Ham fans have been left lamenting the fact they don’t have a top striker.
There is now talk about whether they could end this transfer window with too many, following ExWHUEmployee’s announcement:
We want Gómez and Rondon to be our forwards alongside Arnie. Hernandez to leave. At the moment neither Gomez or Rondon deals are close but both deals will be revisited in next couple of weeks https://t.co/tLW1kpBrdq

ExWHUEmployee has reported numerous times that the Hammers are after Maxi Gómez, adding that any deal would likely take most of the summer.
There has also been coverage of interest in Salomón Rondón in the past, with Daily Mirror reporting the Hammers had a bid rejected for the West Ham man.
Though it is only now that it has been confirmed West Ham are hoping to have both Gómez and Rondón among their ranks this season.
This has got some supporters worried that too much of the transfer kitty is being put into getting strikers, while others are just happy to see the club getting some firepower in.
There are also those who have suggested there is no way to keep the pair of potential new comings and Marko Arnautovic happy, while others feel that the situation could be beneficial for all.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the announcement, including posts from conflicted West Ham fans, can be seen below:
No way Rondon will come knowing we have signed or will be signing Gomez and keeping Arnie. Who would go somewhere at their prime age to warm the bench and be possibly 3rd choice. Saying that, I’d be happy if he signed and Arnie left

Those three competing is unreal depth, but I have a feeling, Arnie wouldn’t want to be our second or third striker

I want to win the lottery! If the Club pull this off fair play to them but I’m not holding my breath for either of them especially Gomez.

If we end up with arnie , Gomez and rondon we’ve done well .
Rondon is very good— Paolo (@ellingford_paul) June 26, 2019
What are we gonna do with 3 really good strikers when 1 or 2 of them won’t even start

have so much creative players in our ranks we need a decent goal scorer n Gomez seems to fit that bill, Rondon offers something different so should tactics need mixing he gives us that n Arnie can play anywhere from wing to CF so offers cover due to injury etc. Good dilemma imo.
