Three goalkeepers West Ham should target to upgrade their current options

West Ham United are expected to have a busy summer of transfer business.

They have already signed Pablo Zabaleta and are being linked with a number of players ahead of the official opening of the summer transfer window.

Two positions that will be prioritised in the summer window are strikers and goalkeepers.

In goal, West Ham currently have Adrian and Darren Randolph.

Adrian has been a decent servant for the Hammers but some of his performances have been plagued with error this season, initially causing him to lose his place to Randolph.

The Republic of Ireland international also made some costly errors and Adrian was recalled towards the end of the season, helping to shore up the defence.

However, it could be time for West Ham to finally add a genuinely top class goalkeeper to have as first choice with either Adrian or Darren Randolph as back-up.

Here are three suggestions for that goalkeeper signing…

Jordan Pickford

West Ham have been linked with a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and he would be a very shrewd addition.

The 23-year-old was the star performer for Sunderland despite their relegation and the Black Cats could struggle to keep him if a Premier League club comes calling.

West Ham have the advantage of being able to offer the England under-21 international a starting spot in our team.

Joe Hart

West Ham should make an ambitious swoop for Joe Hart as a real statement of intent.

Manchester City do not want the England international because of his lack of footwork but he would be a superb signing for West Ham.

If he wants to remain in the Premier League, Hart might consider the Hammers as his next destination.

Wojciech Szczesny

Wojciech Szczesny would be a brilliant signing.

The Poland international is not wanted by Arsenal but had two terrific seasons on loan at Roma and a host of Serie A clubs want him.

West Ham could try to lure the 27-year-old as a long-term solution to the goalkeeper problem.
