It’s Christmas eve. We’re all getting in to the festive spirit, dreaming of love, happiness, family and friends, West Ham beating Aston Villa and Dimitri Payet’s face. Obviously.
So we won’t be seeing Payet’s face at Villa, which is a shame, but yesterday we were given what everyone is calling an early Christmas present. That’s because the club, and the great man himself, posted pictures of him in training (with an actual football!) ahead of schedule on social media.
Twitter goes in to meltdown, the legend of Santa lives on for one more year at least. “He brought us what we asked for!”
Payet took to Instagram with the image below and said: “I will be coming back soon.”
How much of a relief is that? He’s getting closer to a return, and Bilic reckons he could feature against Liverpool on January 2. Ok, so it’s not as if we got a fully fit Payet for Christmas, but just knowing he’s back in training and kicking a ball around is enough for us to be all festive and cheery.
