Winston Reid was named in the West Ham U23’s starting lineup against Wolfsburg ‘B’ in the Premier League International Cup.
Reid has been sidelined due to an injury to his knee he picked up back in March 2018. The New Zealander played 64 minutes, before being subbed off for Jamal Baptiste.
Since the 2010/11 season, the 31-year-old has played 13904 minutes across 166 appearances for West Ham, as detailed by Whoscored.

The Kiwi won’t be able to just walk back into the Hammers defence, with competition from Fabian Balbuena, Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna. However, this could be a blessing in disguise for Reid, as it will give him time to fully recover rather than being rushed into fitness.
Many fans were delighted to see Winnie return, which isn’t a surprise given the amount of time he’s been sidelined.
