After Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Fulham it could be argued that Sam Allardyce has something of a selection dilemma on his hands as he prepares to take on Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

For the first since that victory over Spurs at the beginning of October, Allardyce decided to start with a recognised striker and chose the heavily criticised Modibo Maiga as the right man to lead the line ahead of Carlton Cole.

And it proved to be the right decision as Maiga put in a busy performance before being replaced by goalscorer Carlton Cole with ten minutes remaining.

So with Maiga playing so well against Fulham, would it be fair to drop him for the guy who replaced him and scored at the weekend?

Another question surrounding Allardyce’s potential selection against Palace is whether he should leave Ravel Morrison on the bench again and use him as an impact player later on in the game? But then who does he drop? A lot of fans believe it’s time Kevin Nolan was left out, but the chances of that happening are slim considering the relationship he has with Allardyce.

We asked our Twitter followers who they hope to see starting up front and, considering the amount of stick Maiga has been given so far this season, it was surprising to see that they’d prefer to see him start again…
