A source close to westhamworld.co.uk claims West Ham are lining up bids for Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling and Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles.

Smalling enters the last year of his Manchester United contract and The Hammers are planning on lodging a £12m bid for the English stalwart. Lascelles signed a new five-year deal back in October last year for the Toon Army and West Ham are supposedly prepared to pay £18m for the Newcastle United captain.

Both players have been linked to call ups for this summer’s World Cup in Russia and the Hammers are hopeful that they can sign them before the competition commences on 14th June.

The two incomings could spell the end of Winston Reid’s West Ham United career as the New Zealand international has been attracting interest in Germany from RB Leipzig and 1899 Hoffenheim.

Smalling and Lascelles are valued at £16.2m and £6.3m by transfermarkt.com respectively.
