After the weekend’s pathetic performance against Bournemouth there’s even more panic surrounding the transfer business we may or may not conduct before next week’s deadline.

We’re crying out for a striker and at least one midfielder and the club keep telling us that they expect to have the striker sorted by the end of this week, while the addition of Alex Song should go through as well.

But there’s always the expectation that we’ll end up with nothing.

Luckily it looks like we’re very close to getting something done after all, and there’s no shortage of options of you believe the reports circulating today.

The calibre of the players being linked with us vary from very good to woeful, but it’s looking likely that we won’t be disappointed come next Tuesday.

So here’s why we should be looking forward to the next week. Finally some good news?

  1. Just reviewed his show reel for last season. Entirely left footed – no bad thing – and doesn’t score anything that could be classified as ‘ordinary!’

  2. If that’s the list then we are in trouble. The names mentioned fall into two categories, either we don’t want or we won’t get!
Not much to be cheerful about really, with less than a week to go in the window!

  3. The manc’s and spud are a no no ,both defencively inept and not required ,!!!!! NO
