With rumours growing that Sam Allardyce will be sacked next week (if he hasn’t already – he hasn’t at the time of writing), there are increasing reports that Gus Poyet could be named as his replacement.

The Sunderland boss is being linked more and more with the role, and a lot of fans on Twitter have been expressing their interest in having him at the Boleyn Ground.

Quite why he’d want to leave after keeping Sunderland in the Premier League is anyone’s guess, but he’d certainly be a decent manager to bring back some attractive football to the club and has the potential to become the right manager to take us in to the Olympic Stadium in two years’ time.

Obviously, he’ll be judged by his signings just as much as the style of football he plays, so here’s a look at SIX players he may bring with him should he be our manager next season…
