Angelo Ogbonna is one of a number of names being linked with a move to Sampdoria, according to reports in Italy.

With Sampdoria set to sell star defender Milan Skriniar to Inter Milan, Italian media outlet Il Secolo XIX are reporting that Angelo Ogbonna is considered to be a target to replace him.

Angelo Ogbonna has now been at West Ham for two seasons.

The Italian international has established himself as a regular in the Hammers squad, partnering Winston Reid as a first choice pairing when both are fit.

Ogbonna offers the ability to carry the ball from defence and is a useful left-footed addition to have at the back.

The 29-year-old has also emerged as a fans’ favourite after showing passion and posting positive messages on social media.

West Ham would be disappointed to lose Ogbonna, despite having Jose Fonte, James Collins, Reece Burke, Reece Oxford and Declan Rice waiting in the wings to take his place.

Sampdoria have added the Italian centre half to their wishlist alongside the likes of Lorenzo Tonelli and former Spurs man Vlad Chiriches.

According to this report, Angelo Ogbonna would be keen to secure a return to his homeland, two years after leaving Juventus to join West Ham.
