Given that Sam Allardyce almost has a full squad to choose from for the first time this season, it’s difficult to know what starting XI he’s going to go with against Chelsea tonight.
Joe Cole is our only injured player, while Winston Reid is expected to make his return to the side on Saturday, so Big Sam has a bit of a selection dilemma on his hands.
We may see Andy Carroll starting his first Premier League game of the season, while Antonio Nocerino is expected to make his debut in midfield in place of Mohamed Diame.
James Tomkins and James Collins should partner up at the back, demoting Roger Johnson to the bench, while Adrian could come in for Jussi Jaaskelainen.
The thinking behind the possible switch in keepers again is purely down to the amount of free-kicks Jaaskelianen has conceded this season and Chelsea’s strength at dead ball situations.
So here’s how I think Allardyce may line-up against Chelsea tonight…
