Pablo Fornals’ performances in the Under 21 Euros will be the main indication many West Ham fans have had of what they can expect from him.
This is the case for anyone who doesn’t watch La Liga football and what they will have seen will be highly encouraging.
The former Villarreal man scored his second goal of the tournament in Spain’s 5-0 victory over Poland on Saturday, which the club tweeted about:

It was a different type of goal to his first, against Belgium, which had come when he collected the ball from deep before firing the ball into the top corner from outside the box.
This time he showed a predatory instinct to get on the end of Aaron Caricol’s low ball into the box, turning it towards goal for the game’s opener.
It was his first start of the tournament, having impressed off the bench in Spain’s opening two matches.
He continued to thrive in this match, getting a WhoScored rating of 8.8 and playing 73 accurate passes, of which two were key passes.
In addition he also worked well defensively, as he made a total of four tackles.
If his performances at the Under 21 Euros are anything to go by, the Hammers have a very exciting player on their hands.

Before everyone shouts me down – he did also hit a few weak arse shots too that dribbled through to the keeper so let’s be realistic with this kid and not put him on too high a pedalstool too soon and let him develop into the player we all hope he will be…..
