Manuel Pellegrini spent heavily in the summer to rejuvenate his ranks and is now mulling over a major change for West Ham’s game against Bournemouth.

The Hammers suffered a 4-0 mauling at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, with Pellegrini now looking to shake things up ahead of the hosting of Eddie Howe’s side.

According to Claret & Hughthe most likely midfield change will see summer signing Carlos Sanchez brought into the starting line-up at the expense of 19-year-old Declan Rice.

The Republic of Ireland international was one of few shining lights in a disappointing season for West Ham last year but his standing in the squad is under threat following Pellegrini’s spending spree.

Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena arrived to provide depth in the centre of defence, where Rice was a regular last season, and the signing of veteran midfielder Sanchez leaves the teenager with a battle to feature in a holding midfield role.
