West Ham’s poor season is finally coming to an end this weekend when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor.
A tricky place to visit, Burnley know that a win will take them above the Hammers while West Ham will finish as the top claret and blue side in the country if they earn a draw.
However, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has no faith in West Ham’s ability to pick up a point.
Merse has predicted a comfortable 2-0 win for Burnley despite them being poor against Bournemouth last week.
In a game where neither team has anything significant to play for, Merson thinks that Burnley will finish their season with an easy home win over West Ham, who could still be reeling after Liverpool thrashed them 4-0 at the London Stadium last weekend.
Merson brutally added that “they [West Ham] used their cup final the other week against Tottenham”, referring to the 1-0 win over Spurs which ended their title hopes and mathematically ensured West Ham’s place in next season’s Premier League.
West Ham have been hit with many injuries ahead of the Burnley game and will face a tricky test against Sean Dyche’s men, who have prided themselves on being difficult to beat at Turf Moor.
